התאהבה בטניס לפני 6 שנים והקימה נבחרת בנות בגילאי 12 ו-14 יחד עם המרכז לטניס: “הנשים צריכות להיות מעורבות בספורט”. צפו בכתבה
לטניסאיות הצעירות בישראל יש סיבה טובה להתחיל לחייך. רוזה דמביצר, יהודיה שעלתה לארץ מארצות הברית, החליטה לתמוך בטניס הנשים והקימה נבחרת בנות של כל מרכזי הטניס בארץ בגילאי 12 ו-14 יחד עם הצוות המקצועי במרכז לטניס בישראל.
דמביצר, ילידת סן חוסה שבקוסטה ריקה, עברה לניו יורק ולאחר מכן עלתה לארץ. החיבור עם הטניס החל לפני כשש שנים: רייצ’ל עמדה לשחק טניס במשחקי מכבי ברומא, המשפחה הגיעה לביקור בישראל וחיפשה מקום להתאמן לקראת המשחקים. רוזה וביתה הגיעו למרכז הטניס ברמת השרון, פגשו את מאמן נבחרת הדייויס דאז, רונן מורלי, ששכנע את רוזה להתחיל לשחק.
רוזה התאהבה בטניס והחליטה לשלב בין האהבה לענף לאהבתה למדינת ישראל. יחד עם רונן הם העלו את רעיון הפרוייקט והיא תרמה סכום כסף על מנת להתחיל בהקמת הנבחרת ולספק לבנות אימונים, ציוד ועזרה בנסיעות לתחרויות בחו”ל. כאשר במקביל היא החלה במסע חיפוש אחרי ספונסרים נוספים.
מהמרכזים ברחבי הארץ נבחרו בנות לסגל שהגיעו לימים מרוכזים לאימונים על מגרשי החימר והמגרשים הקשים. לנבחרת מונו שני מאמנים, שלומי בן עמי ממרכז הטניס בחיפה ו-ויקטור מורדכייב ממרכז הטניס ביפו. המטרה היא הפיכת הבנות לשחקניות מקצועיות או זכיה במלגה למכללה בארצות הברית ולהשתלב באימון. במהלך הקיץ נסעו הבנות לתחרויות ולאימונים בחו”ל ובתחילת ספטמבר תתכנס הנבחרת בחזרה לעוד שנת אימונים.

דמביצר הסבירה את המטרה שלה בהקמת נבחרת הבנות: “יש אחוז נשירה גבוה מאוד מגילאי 14 בין הבנות וזה ממשיך לגדול, כך שאנחנו רוצים להגדיל את מספר הבנות שממשיכות לשחק טניס אחרי גיל 14. אני חושבת שטניס הנשים צריך לקבל יותר תשומת לב בישראל. החזון שלנו הוא ליצור את הדור הבא של הטניסאיות בישראל ואני מאמינה שחלק מהבנות יכולות להיות שחקניות מקצועניות בטופ 10”.
“אנחנו צריכים שנשים ייצגו אותנו, אנחנו צריכים לתמוך בנשים, בטניס ובספורט”, טענה דמביצר. “זו באמת תשוקה, ואני בת מזל שמצאתי חבורה של אנשים מחויבים בעלי תשוקה שיעבדו אתי יחד בפרוייקט הזה. באמריקה נשים מעורבות בספורט, במיוחד בתיכון ופה מעט מאוד נשים מתאמנות. הן צריכות להיות מעורבות מאוד”.
רונן מורלי , מנהל התוכנית התחרותית במרכז לטניס בישראל, ציין: “מה שרוזה הביאה לפרוייקט הזה, מעבר לכסף שהוא חשוב, הוא גם הגישה לנסות לקדם את הטניס הנשי ולעשות את ההעדפה המתקנת בין הטניס הנשי לגברי”.

of the ALYN Hospital- Israel’s only children orthopedic rehab hospital.I have participated personally on the ride several times and have greatly enjoyed it. Also, I have visited the ALYN Hospital and have personally seen the amazing work they do for all citizens of Israel.
WHEELS OF LOVE is the ALYN Hospital’s largest annual fundraiser. This event is so much more than just a bike ride….it is an annual reunion of old friends from around the world as well as a meet-up of new people. The annual bike ride brings together Americans, Canadians, Israelis and Europeans who are all passionate about Israel, children and cycling. The ride is a five day moving caravan of love and hope. The money raised through the ride helps offset the staggering shortfall the Hospital has because the amount reimbursed from health insurance lags far behind the actual cost of ALYN’s life changing care. The 2018 goal is to raise $3,000,000. We will reach it gift by gift; just as the ALYN children reach their goals step by step.

The center is named after Alex Dembitzer’ grandmother that suffered from Alzheimer's for many years.
There are more than 5 million people living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia in the United States. It is estimated that Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60-80 percent of all dementia cases. Alzheimer’s kills more people than breast and prostate cancer combined. The total cost of caring for those in the United States with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias is estimated at 259 billion dollars in 2017. Alzheimer's disease is a slow, progressive disorder of the brain that results in loss of memory and other cognitive function and, eventually death.
